What is the Meaning of Life? series of exhibitions - Sainsbury Centre, UEA, Norwich

From May 16 to October 4, 2026, the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia in Norwich invites you to explore profound questions about life with "What is the Meaning of Life?" A series of exhibitions and projects will challenge your thoughts on routine, creativity, and play. "Living by the Rule: Contemporary meets Medieval" delves into modern rules through a medieval lens, while "Play Power" investigates how play might shape our daily lives more meaningfully. From June 20 to November 15, "Joy Like Time" showcases artists' journeys of finding life's purpose through craft and repetition. Two new artworks—Life in the Multiverse by Libby Heaney and CATKINS FOREVER by Ruth Ewan—will also be on display, offering unique insights into life’s deeper meanings. Admission is included with a Universal Ticket available at the Gallery Reception.
