It's been a lively couple of weeks in Hunstanton, with plenty to catch up on from around our lovely Norfolk coastal town. From updates on local initiatives and community projects to news about new businesses and developments, we've rounded up all the key stories that have made headlines over the past fortnight - including some exciting events coming up soon for residents and visitors alike.
In the Norfolk news
The past fortnight has seen its fair share of news from Hunstanton. One of the most significant developments is the long-overdue repair work on our coastal defences, with a hefty price tag of over £150,000. It's reassuring to know that these vital structures will soon be in better shape to protect us from the elements. Meanwhile, the town has been receiving some well-deserved recognition for its hospitality. Le Strange Arms Hotel was named one of the best small hotels in the UK by The Guardian, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our local hoteliers. Unfortunately, this accolade comes on the heels of a tragic incident at the same hotel, where a person sadly passed away after suffering a medical emergency. Our thoughts go out to their loved ones during this difficult time. On a more positive note, it's great to see our town making strides in sustainability. The installation of solar panels at Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary is a step in the right direction towards reducing our carbon footprint. And if you're thinking of planning a peaceful getaway to Hunstanton, recent figures suggest that we might just be the perfect destination for a quiet escape – but what makes us so special?

These family-friendly events promise to be an entertaining way to spend a Wednesday afternoon. A little later in the month, Old Hunstanton will come alive with the annual Cliff Top Fireworks Display on Sunday 8th November.
